Originally hail from North Carolina
Resident of Los Angeles California since 1983

EDUCATION
Graduated Catawaba College Theatre Arts Program
with a BA in Technical Theatre 1979

BACKSTORY
My first job was working backstage in local theater in 1970. You can say that
the stage, or at least the dust and dirt from same, is in my blood.

I actually started getting paid for bleeding for my art on my first feature film
in 1980. (For trivia buffs that would be the last feature Tim Conway and Don
Knotts made together).

With three features under my belt, I confidentially moved out to Los Angeles
only to butt headfirst into the great writer's strike of 1981. (Not to be confused
with the even greater writer's strike of 1988, during which I was mercifully
gainfully employed on a couple of lucky features).

So, in 1981, with no film work available, I ran headlong into real live local
television production (back in the south) where I learned some fairly useful
skills. I became proficient in shooting and editing video and sound. A couple
of years shooting newscasts and producing local commercial spots (not to
mention the viable return of the film industry to active production in Los
Angeles) convinced me to return, where I have been happily letting blood
sweat and laughter in film and television ever since.
